What is the British Thyroid Association ?
The British Thyroid Association is a non-profit making learned society of professional clinical specialist doctors and scientists in the UK who manage patients with thyroid disease and/or are researching into the thyroid and its diseases in humans. The BTA is the only national professional organisation in the UK composed of research doctors and consultants who are accredited by having completed higher professional training in thyroid and other endocrine diseases.
The BTA is associated with The British Thyroid Foundation (BTF) and the Thyroid Eye Disease Association (TED) , both of which are patient-led officially registered charities set up for the support and education of patients suffering from thyroid disease and their families.

The annual membership fee for the British Thyroid Association is £25 for 2002/03. The discounted annual rate for joint membership of both the British Thyroid Association and the British Thyroid Foundation is £35.
