BTF Geocache - 'The Hare and the Tortoise'

The Hare and the Tortoise raced each other to raise awareness for the BTF, using the high-tech treasure hunt game Geocaching. Aesop’s Fable about the slow and steady tortoise versus the superfast hare was put to the test in an unusual new way, while highlighting the complex conditions of underactive and overactive thyroid.

The Hare and the Tortoise were ‘released’ in separate geocaches in Harrogate, and ‘dashed’ from cache to cache, up towards Edinburgh in time for Gardening Scotland on 1 June (see above for more details).

We are delighted that - just as in Aesop's fable - the tortoise won and arrived in the west of Edinburgh with two weeks to go!

Harrogate Spring Flower Show 2012

BTF was honoured to have been given the chance to be at the prestigious Harrogate Flower Show where we shared a stand with the award-winning botanical artist Anna Knights. Inspite of the terrible weather, thousands of people came to the show and many of those came to meet us and seemed to be delighted about the work we do. These beautiful butterfly cakes were kindly made for us by talented local cakemaker Kirsty Poulter at Piece of Cake in Harrogate.
