Please help us to support people with thyroid disease

At this challenging timewe want to reach out to people across the UK living with a thyroid condition. Whether answering your phone queries, compiling up-to-date information about the coronavirus (COVID-19) or simply lending a listening ear, we will be here for you.

Since the outbreak of the coronavirus, our staff and volunteers have been busier than ever. Unfortunately our fundraising activity has not. Afundraising events across the country are cancelled and postponed, we face losing 60% of our fundraising income almost overnight.

Of course, we are not alone. For a small charity like ours though this dip in income is going to hurt – a lot.

We know many of you are also facing financial worries but are appealing to you to help in whatever way you can. It really doesn’t need to be a large gesture to make a difference.

#DeclutterAndDonate and raise funds for the BTF

Having a clear out? You can now turn unwanted household items into donations for the BTF with Ziffit and Virgin Money Giving

What is it?

Ziffit is a ‘recommerce’ organisation where you can sell unwanted household items, such as books and other media. They have now teamed up with Virgin Money Giving to give you the option of donating your sale proceeds to charity.

How does it work?

  • Download the Ziffit app
  • Scan your items and get an instant quote
  • Nominate the BTF as your chosen charity
  • Pack up your goods and put your trade ID on the parcel
  • Leave your items outside your property on an agreed day and a FREE courier will collect all packages weighing over 5 kg. Alternatively you can use the Collect+ service
  • We will receive the donation within seven days and you can even Gift Aid your donation to make it go further.

How do I get started?

  1. Simply go to the  Ziffit website to nominate the BTF as your chosen cause and start selling

Or

  1. If you already have the Ziffit app, simply nominate 'British Thyroid Foundation' as your chosen cause when you receive your quote for your scanned items

Is it safe?

Yes. The selling is done ‘virtually’ so can be completed from the safety and comfort of your own home.

The donation is made by the reputable online giving platform, Virgin Money Giving, and comes straight to us.

So you get the satisfaction of making a donation to the BTF and having a good clear out at the same time.
