Being diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer at the start of lockdown added to Elaine’s worry about her diagnosis. She was faced with an anxious couple of months before her hemithyroidectomy at the end of May. Elaine was signposted to the BTF by her consultant and found our information helpful whilst coming to terms with her diagnosis and awaiting surgery.

There is so much to learn and so much information out there. You helped me understand what was happening to me. I understand that thyroid cancer is relatively rare and that funding for charities working in this area is hard to come by so I wanted to help.
