Celebrating 25 years of the BTF Research Award

'Without BTF funding this research simply would not happen.' - Prof Chris McCabe Birmingham

We believe research into thyroid disease is vital.  That's why we set up the BTF Research Award in 1997. Since then, we have given a grant each year to support thyroid research undertaken by UK-based scientists and clinicians. The current annual award of £20,000 aims to:

  • improve scientific understanding of thyroid disease
  • identify markers for thyroid disorders and aid diagnosis
  • develop new treatments for thyroid disease
  • improve outcomes for people living with thyroid conditions

We are proud to have funded over £540,000 of vital thyroid research over our BTF Research Award's 25-year history. But we’re determined to do more!

There are still so many aspects of thyroid disease that require further research but funding is extremely hard to come by. That's why we have launched our 'BTF Research Award Appeal.'

Can you help us raise £20,000 through our appeal, please? Every donation, no matter the size, will mean we can continue to fund groundbreaking research and help improve treatments and outcomes for thyroid patients in the future. Thank you
