My daughter Kimberley died on 21st August 2022 aged 36. The official cause of her death was a fatal stroke, I am awaiting a report with more in-depth detail of the actual cause of the stroke but believe undiagnosed Hashimoto's thyroiditis may have played a role.

Kimberley has left behind three beautiful children, Savannah aged 9, Cadence aged 6 and Sawyer aged 2. She also left behind a loving husband, Chris, and a family so shocked and distraught at her passing, I don't think we will ever get over it.

In Kimberley's honour, it is my heartfelt mission to raise as much awareness as I possibly can about Hashimoto's thyroiditis and the importance of getting any potential symptoms, such as weight gain, cold intolerance and low mood, checked by your GP. Thyroid disorders can be diagnosed by a blood test and can be treated with daily replacement thyroid hormone. In rare cases, untreated hypothyroidism can sadly lead to serious health complications.
