I'm taking on my first Cardiff Half Marathon to raise funds for the British Thyroid Foundation (BTF).

Following my hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid) diagnosis five years ago, the BTF has helped me process and understand the diagnosis whilst providing a support network along the way.

Thyroid disorders can sometimes be overlooked in males as they predominately affect females. As a 34-year-old male and considered 'young, fit and healthy' by friends and family, I feel it's important to share my story. In the process, I'm hoping to raise awareness of the condition and help educate friends and family of the symptoms/challenges of living with hypothyroidism.
