I have lived with an underactive thyroid for many years now and never fully appreciated how dangerous it can be to have this condition until recently, but just recently I have been diagnosed with an autoimmune thyroid disease called Hashimoto's.

Living with Hashimoto’s feels like carrying an invisible weight that no one else can quite see, but you feel every second of every day. It’s the exhaustion that sleep never fixes, the brain fog that steals your words mid-sentence, the body that hurts and aches and slows down without warning. Some days it feels like you’re fighting yourself. Lucy Francis
