Your use of this website constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions and the Privacy Policy as at the date of your first use of this website and you agree to be bound by them. If these terms and conditions are not accepted in full then you must not use this website.

The information contained in this website has been prepared for the purposes of providing general information about The British Thyroid Foundation (BTF) and information relating to thyroid disorders. We try to ensure that the information presented on this website is as up to date and as accurate as possible but it is not intended to replace clinical care decisions and you should always discuss any concerns you have with your own doctor or specialist. 

The BTF accepts no liability whatsoever in contract, tort or otherwise for any loss or damage which may arise from the use of the information on this website, except to the extent that such liability cannot be excluded by law.

Some hyperlinks on this site will lead you to external websites which are not managed by the BTF. When you activate any of these links you will leave BTF’s website and we have no control over and will accept no responsibility or liability in respect of the material on any other website. Nothing in these terms of use shall exclude our liability to you for fraudulent misrepresentation by us or our employees for death or personal injury resulting from our negligence or that of our employees.

If any provisions of these disclaimers and exclusions shall be unlawful, void or for any reason unenforceable, then that provision shall be deemed severable and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions.

You agree not to participate in any mischievous or malicious behaviour which causes damage or may cause damage to the BTF, its website, or any of the computer systems upon which the BTF relies.

Shop and Donations

The BTF shop and donations is managed by Stripe: www.stripe.com/

All personal information and transaction information is secured by Stripe. The software has been audited by a PCI-certified auditor and is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1. This is the most stringent level of certification available in the payments industry.

We are happy to exchange or refund items within 30 days of purchase but any refund or exchange is offered entirely at our own discretion. All items must be returned with your original receipt (or other proof of purchase) and in the same condition as when you purchased them. This does not affect your statutory rights.

We aim to send out orders by Royal Mail or courier service within 10 working days of the orders being received.

Membership

 Membership of the BTF is set up as a direct debit. The payments are managed by Rapidata which is a Bacs approved company. You can cancel your membership at any time by contacting the BTF at [email protected].

Jurisdiction

These terms of use shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws or England and Wales and you agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales in respect of any disputes which may arise in relation to our website.

We hope our members are pleased with the services they receive.  Your feedback is always welcome to help us to improve our services to patients. If you are unhappy with any aspect of our service please refer to our complaints procedure to direct your complaint in confidence.
