We are delighted to have joined as an affiliate partner of the UK’s largest health research programme, Our Future Health.

As an affiliate charity, we will be joining other healthcare charities to shape Our Future Health’s research programme. This will help ensure the research serves the needs of a wide range of health conditions, including thyroid disease.

Our Future Health is inviting millions of people of all backgrounds to take part to help build a detailed picture of the UK’s health. The data collected by volunteers providing information about their health and lifestyles will help researchers to advance their understanding of health conditions.

This has the potential to help everyone live longer and healthier lives through the discovery and testing of more effective approaches to prevention, earlier detection and treatment of diseases.

Our status as an affiliate health charity also means we can help raise awareness of this groundbreaking research programme.

Professor Marian Ludgate, BTF Chair of Trustees, said: “The exciting partnership between the British Thyroid Foundation and Our Future Health will enable us to address some of the research priorities identified by our thyroid community.”

Dr Raghib Ali, CEO and Chief Medical Officer of Our Future Health, said, “It’s great to welcome the British Thyroid Foundation as Our Future Health’s newest affiliate charity partner. The British Thyroid Foundation has been funding research into thyroid disorders and treatments for 29 years, so their expertise will be invaluable as we enable research into the prevention, detection and treatment of conditions like thyroid disorders.”
