In August 2025, I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. After surgery, treatment, and a period of recovery, I felt a strong desire to set myself a personal goal while raising money for a charity that, through this journey, has become very close to my heart.

Fast forward to March 2026, and I found myself on the start line of the Bath Half Marathon. Emotions were high knowing that just eight months earlier I had been navigating diagnosis, operations, scans, and treatment.

For the first 12km, I soaked up the incredible atmosphere and support from the crowds. The final 11km became a real mental challenge, with moments where I doubted I could keep going. But the generosity behind the £3,803 raised, along with the encouragement around me, carried me across the finish line in 1 hour 54 minutes.

My husband also ran in support, making it even more special. It was an unforgettable experience, and I feel truly overwhelmed by the kindness and donations given to support such an important cause.”

Emily raised a total of £3,803.00
