For those of you who don’t know, my mum suffered a short battle with hyperthyroidism; a condition where your thyroid gland produces more thyroid hormones than your body needs and, in cases like mum's, can result in something referred to as a thyroid storm.

Before my mum's illness, I had never heard of anything like this. The BTF undertakes incredible work to advance knowledge about such illnesses and heavily relies on donations to fund their work that provides information and support to help people in the UK live better with thyroid disease. Once diagnosed, these disorders often persist for the remainder of one’s life but they can also go unnoticed for a really long time. This is why it is so important to be aware of thyroid diseases and know how to support someone through this.

On May 25th it’ll be one year since my mum passed away. In memory of my beautiful Mum, I will be doing a 10k to raise money for The British Thyroid Foundation to help support and raise awareness for those with thyroid diseases.

My mum was strong an brave and left behind a daughter determined to help others in any way possible. In such a short time, the British Thyroid Foundation has quickly grown to be very important to me and will now always hold a special place in my heart.

Any donations, big or small, would be so greatly appreciated. πŸŒΈπŸ•ŠοΈπŸ’ž
