In September 2023 I under went a hemithyroidectomy after a tumour was found on my thyroid from an MRI scan for an unrelated issue. The surgery went well and the recovery was a challenge but adjusting to life with half a thyroid and what changes come with that has been overwhelming to process along with continued monitoring and tests.
