Volunteer with us

By volunteering for the BTF you can make a difference to people who are need of support. There are many ways to help:

  • Start a local support group and provide the opportunity for people to meet others as well as learn about their thyroid disorder and how to manage their condition. We will help you with setting up your first meeting and provide ongoing support. We can put you in touch with one of our well established local group leaders to give you some helpful advice, should you wish. Please download a role description and application form to apply. If you would like further details please telephone 01423 810093 or email [email protected]
  • Become a telephone contact and provide valuable support by answering thyroid patients' phone calls from their home. Share your experience with others who are struggling or are just in need of more information, if they have recently been diagnosed with a thyroid disorder. Please download a role description and application form to apply. If you would like further details please telephone 01423 810093 or email [email protected]
  • Be part of our members panel in providing valuable patient feedback to the BTF. Your input is helpful in  allowing the patients voice to be heard on research trials, committees and in reports as well as being involved with helping us to update BTF patient literature. Please email [email protected] to note your interest.

  • Become an office volunteer and come and lend a hand with a variety of jobs at head office. Our head office is based in Harrogate, so would suit anyone living in or around the Harrogate area. Please just give us a call on 01423 810093 for a chat or email [email protected] for further information.

In order to support volunteers in their role we try to provide regular opportunities for training and updates so that volunteers can meet and discuss various aspects of their role and keep up to date with the latest thyroid issues.
