Get involved Fundraise for us Irina's - Isle of Wight Ultra Challenge 2025 While most thyroid conditions can be treated with daily medication, at 25 years old, I was diagnosed with a medullary cancer and had to undergo the surgery where my thyroid gland was fully removed. After the surgery, I also had to take the radioactive iodine to ensure that all cancer cells have been destroyed. It did have an impact on my life, and I had to learn a lot about the life without a thyroid on my own because in the country where I was born, no charity existed regarding this condition. That's why I would like to fundraise for British Thyroid Foundation. It works with medical professionals to provide reliable and evidence-based information and is a great place to get support, whether you or your relatives have this condition. Irina took part in the Isle of Wight Ultra challenge. She quoted ''I took it 'easy' and just wanted to enjoy the island. So, I was very surprised that I finished first 😁 Amazing people along the course and beautiful villages. Definitely the good way to celebrate a milestone of being cancer-free and 10 years living without a Thyroid Irina raised £707.00 for the BTF!
