As a busy veterinary student, Melis delayed seeing her GP when she first experienced chest pain, breathlessness and palpitations. Unfortunately, she became very unwell with Graves’ disease and her studies were affected.
Melis is now starting to improve with antithyroid medication and is keen to raise awareness of the thyroid’s gland major role in our health. So she set herself a scarf and blanket knitting challenge. For every donation, she knitted 10 rows. We love the colourful result reflecting each of her donors’ colour of choice.
