We are here for you at this challenging time. If you would like information or support, please get in touch in the following ways:

BTF telephone helpline

Our telephone helpline is available Monday to Thursday between 10am - 4pm. Please dial 01423 810093.

Calls to these numbers are confidential and can help you find the answer to general questions about thyroid conditions. It is suitable for patients (and their carers) who are newly diagnosed or have long standing thyroid conditions. Calls are answered by trained staff with thyroid experience, who understand the issues you might be facing. We are here to listen and provide clear and up-to-date information. We can also signpost you to further support and information.

We may not be available to answer every call straightaway but there is a message facility which you can use to leave your name and contact number. If you do this we will try our best to call you back within 48 hours. At busy times this may take longer.

By phoning us you are providing consent for us to process your data in order to provide you with the information or services you are contacting us about. Your personal details will only be used to provide you with information or services you have requested.

The cost of calls from mobiles and other networks may vary so please check with your service provider.

Medical helpline

You can also ask us questions about thyroid disorders by sending us an email to [email protected]

We will try to answer your email promptly by providing clear and up-to-date information or to signpost you to further support and information.

  • These are UK based services and we may not be familiar with treatment protocols for patients who live elsewhere.
  • Your anonymised enquiry and reply may be published for the benefit of other thyroid patients in our online and printed communications materials

When you contact us you are providing consent for us to process your data in order to provide you with the information or services you are contacting us about. Your personal details will only be used by us to provide you with the information or services you have requested.
